Perth County Food Hub

The Corporation of Perth County and the Local Community Food Centre (CFC) engaged Eko Nomos, Eco-Ethonomics, and C Lang Consulting to explore the feasibility of a regional food distribution hub that would serve as a central distribution point for fresh, local and sustainably produced food in the area. The food hub is to operate as a non-profit social enterprise that builds on the existing assets of the CFC on Erie Street in Stratford. The feasibility study was made possible by the award of a grant from the J. W. McConnell Foundation. By engaging suppliers, distributors, and potential customers through numerous means, and conducting market research and secondary research, the consulting team produced clear recommendations to guide the food hub’s decision making about its social enterprise concept.
